Deer Mice
Deer mice can transmit Hantavirus, a pulmonary and potentially fatal disease. The disease can be transmitted through contact with a Deer mouse carcass or by breathing the urine of an infected mouse.
Control can be achieved by closing entry points. Holes should be sealed with 1/4-inch hardware cloth or sheet metal and patch any hole with the diameter of a pencil. Pet foods and water bowls should not be stored in accessible areas, like garages. To prevent Deer mice from using your hollow walls as hiding places seal around pipes under your sinks with Water Pipe Wall Patch (A0049). Use baited and un-baited snap traps such as Snap-E Mouse Trap (A0141) and glue boards like Catchmaster Glue Boards (A0024)

House Mouse
House mice can transmit pathogens that cause diseases such as salmonellas (food poisoning); however, they are not known to carry Hantavirus.
Control can be achieved by closing entry points. Holes should be sealed with 1/4-inch hardware cloth or sheet metal and patch any hole with the diameter of a pencil. Roof Rats
Roof rats are nocturnal and are very shy about new objects and cautious when thing change in their environmnet and along their established runs. Roof rats can be reservoirs of bubonic plague, and are known to cause endemic typhus fever, and rat bite fever.
Control can be achieved by closing entry points. Holes should be sealed with 1/2-inch hardware cloth or sheet metal. Roof rats can be trapped using glue boards such as Catchmaster 48R Rat Glue boards (A0104) and snap traps such as Trapper T-Rex Rat Trap (A0027) placed along the walls where rats travel. You can bait inside if you use a tamper resistant bait station such as the Protecta Rat Bait Station (A0029) A good all round rat bait for this station would be Contrac All-Weather Bait Blox (A0031).
