Can killer bees be treated?
Pest Products Online recommends you contact your local animal control center for removal of these insects, as they can be deadly.

African Honey bees hoard minimal amounts of honey and have the ability to survive on sparse supplies of pollen and nectar. They sting only once and then shortly die after leaving the stinger and a tiny venom sac in the wound.

Habitat

African killer bees swarm to establish new nests, moving their entire colony if food is scarce. They are not particular about nesting sites and have been found in tires, crates, boxes, and empty cars. They are known to build nests in the ground, in cavities of trees, and in structures.

Health Risks

African Honey bees are highly defensive; they aggressively attack intruders and will chase a person a quarter of a mile. Their venom is no more harmful than a Honeybee and they sting only once; however, they attack in greater numbers, often causing more stings to an individual person.  Knowing what they look like is vital to you and your family’s health.  Please see our pictures of killer bees for identification.

Property Damage

African killer bees can cause considerable damage if they take up residence inside your home. They can enter a home and build their nest in cracks and crevices in the walls and floors and in or around fireplaces and chimneys.

Prevention

Avoid disturbing the hive. To keep swarms from entering a building, seal cracks and holes or cover them with small gauge wire mesh
