Drywood termites form colonies of up to 2,500 members.  Their colonies do not have a worker caste. Instead, the work is done by immature termites before they reach adulthood. Their fecal pellets are elongate with rounded ends and have six flattened or roundly depressed surfaces separated by six longitudinal ridges.

Habitat

They have a low moisture requirement and can tolerate dry conditions for long periods. They remain above ground and do not connect their nests to the soil. These insects infest dry wood, including lumber, dead limbs, utility poles, fence posts, and lumber in storage. They seasonally migrate to nearby buildings and other structures on warm days.   This is when having pictures of termites may help you in resolving the problem before it starts.
