They also nest under stones, in mulch, inside your house walls, wall insulation, and under flooring. Health Risks Although they have the ability to bite and sting, they are not usually aggressive. Property Damage These colonies can cause minimal property damage, it can be difficult to locate and eliminate the colonies once they are established. Prevention Remove potential food sources, especially meats and grease, inside your home by wiping up spills, keeping counter tops clean, and store food in sealed containers. Eradication Pavement ants are attracted to and feed on sweet and protein-based baits. Kness Liquid Stations with Terro-PCO- Liquid Ant Bait will work great (see below). Follow the ant trail, if you can, back to their nest and treat it with residual insecticide. Phantom is perfect (see below). Particular attention should be paid to cracks and expansion joints in slabs, driveways and sidewalks, use Phantom.
