These insects can be easily identified by the irregular pattern of white, brown, and dark yellow scales on its wing covers. In older adults, the color pattern wears off, leaving the beetle solid brown or black in color.

Habitat

Often, you can find adult indoors at windows; however, the eggs are laid in dark, secluded areas where larvae can feed and go undetected.
