Need to know how to exterminate roof rats? Let Pest Products Online knowledge and professional experience assist you in killing roof rats in your home or business.
These rodents are nocturnal, but when populations are high, you can see them during the day. They often enter a structure during cold seasons when food sources are scarce. The rats are prolific breeders, having an average of 7 offspring during 2 main breeding seasons.

Habitat

They can live near the ground; but, they often live in attics, making runways along pipes, beams, wires, up and down studding, and along ceiling joists. They often leave a dark colored layer of grease and dirt that mark their trails. They eat a variety of foods including grains, meats, and almost anything humans consume.

Health Risks

These rats can be reservoirs of bubonic plague (transmitted to humans by the bite of a flea or other insect), and are known to cause endemic typhus fever, better known as rat bite fever.

Property Damage

They can chew through wiring, causing fires or damage to outside electric equipment such as well pumps and heating systems. Inside, rats contaminate food for humans and pets. They can cause damage to wood, clothing, books, paper, dry wall, and electric wiring.   This is when killing roof rats are necessary.  We also offer humane methods of eliminating these rodents.

Prevention

Keep food in sealed plastic containers. Seal holes larger than ½ inch around doors, windows, and your foundation. Keep firewood and other debris away from your home and keep outside garbage cans tightly sealed.
